Yes. The Bootcamp is designed for students who will be applying to college in the upcoming cycle, typically rising seniors entering 12th grade. The program is built around completing your Common App personal statement and supplemental essays before applications open in August and September, so the timing only makes sense for students applying that fall.

If your child is in an earlier grade, our Find Your Qibla program is a better fit. It helps students in grades 9 to 11 identify their passions, build their profile, and lay the foundation for a strong application years in advance.

This is one of the most common questions we receive, and Br. Hamzah addresses it directly inside the Bootcamp. The short answer: your Islamic identity can be a powerful asset in a college essay, if it is handled authentically and strategically.

Many of FBC's most successful students have written about their faith, their community, their dual identity as Muslims in America, and experiences like hifz, Islamic school, and masjid life. The key is making your faith the lens, not just the topic. Br. Hamzah has spent more than 20 years helping Muslim students present their identity in a way that causes admissions officers to see them as compelling candidates, not despite their background, but because of it.

Every session is recorded, and every student gets lifetime access to all recordings. So if they miss a day, they can watch it back at their own pace, as many times as they need.
That said, the live sessions are where the real magic happens. The Q&A, the energy of the cohort, the real-time feedback cannot be fully replicated on a recording. If your child can attend even a few sessions live, we strongly encourage it. And if they do miss one, they won't fall behind. They catch up on the recording, bring their questions to the WhatsApp group, and raise anything they missed during office hours. No one gets left behind, insha'Allah.

Absolutely. We have worked with homeschooled students before, and Br. Hamzah homeschooled his own children for eight years. Homeschooled students often have unique stories and experiences that make for outstanding college essays. The Bootcamp process is exactly the same, and the cohort is welcoming of students from all educational backgrounds.

Yes. The Bootcamp is run fully online, and we have had students join from the UK, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Qatar, the Maldives, Scotland, and many other countries. All sessions are live via video and recorded for later access, so international students can participate fully regardless of time zone.

The Brag Sheet is a structured reflection exercise you complete before the Bootcamp begins. It helps your child surface their stories, experiences, accomplishments, and values, the raw material a great essay is built from. It also doubles as an excellent starting point for requesting recommendation letters from teachers and mentors.

The Private Essay Vault contains complete college essays submitted by real students who were admitted to Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and other elite universities. It is available exclusively to FBC Bootcamp students. These essays are not templates to copy. They are models of what an unforgettable essay actually looks like, showing your child what is possible when a student writes with honesty, specificity, and a clear sense of who they are.

The College Essay Bootcamp is offered once per year, in late July. We time it intentionally to give rising seniors the summer to complete their essays before the Common App opens and early action deadlines arrive in October and November. We do not offer a second cohort. If your child is in a younger grade right now, Find Your Qibla is the right program for this stage.

Having a draft often makes the coaching sessions more productive, because Br. Hamzah can work directly on your child's specific piece rather than starting from scratch. The Bootcamp is as much about refining and elevating a draft as it is about writing one from zero.
